FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
1. Schools are now putting harsher rules on the concept of bullying because they are now "becoming more and more aware of its negative impact on kids." (Carpenter, 2)

2. Though a lot of parents think that their children are not being bullied, a lot of "kids are dealing with bullying on some level on a dailt basis." (Carpenter, 7)

3. In the past, bullying was not a big issue and was just seen as something that happened to teenagers but "bullying is now recognized as an important contributor to youth violence and bullycide." (Carpenter, 7)

4. A lot of people assume that school shootings happen because the shooter themselves are not happy but a paper "concluded that bullying played a significant role in many school shootings." (Carpenter, 7)

5. Since "indirect bullying (hurtful gossip) is harder to detect" most school officials will not know how severe a situation is until a student comes up to them with evidence. (Carpenter, 25)

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

Deborah Carpenter wrote this book when she found out that her son was being bullied when he was four years old and started writing this book to help other parents deal with their child being bullied. She went to different sources and started to do research to provide as much information as possible. She talks about different types of bullying and how each bullying can affect a child differently.
